Looking South From the East End of Wild Horse Acres
You are looking due south at Wild Horse Acres from the far east off Smoke Creek Ranch Road.
The town of Viewland is just over the rise. There is not a single building in the town of Viewland. But Viewland is an official California town.
The straight line of dirt you see in the upper right middle is the remanens of the old abandon AT&T transcontinental telephone line. Also up over the rise is the AT&T substation for the old transcontinental telephone line.
One can ride south from Wild Horse Acres and they will find the U. S. Government's wild horse operations center. The BLM Wild Horse Management Center is about 3-4 miles. When one reaches the wild horse operations center, they are leaving the south east end of the BLM wild horse sanctuary. Generally speaking, this particular wild horse sanctuary extends from the middle of Oregon, Idaho, through almost all Nevada, to Utah. It is an interesting note that Nevada is almost 80 percent owned by the Government and only leased to private operators.
